Founded in 1965, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the firm is renowned for its creative and sensitive design response to environmental demands, and this big book (9.5x13") showcases 20 projects. Abundant photos (many full page or bigger) display exteriors and interiors, and captions and brief text describe some of the challenges and solutions. Among the projects: the School of fisheries (U. of Washington), the Barn at Fallingwater, Pixar Animation Studios, Apple Store Fifth Avenue, Seattle City Hall, and Grand Teton Discovery and Visitor Center. 作者簡介
Peter Q. Bohlin, Bernard J. Cywinski, and Jon C. Jackson founded their practice in 1965. The firm has eleven principals and over forty associates, with offices in Wilkes-Barre, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Seattle, and San Francisco. Bohlin Cywinski Jackson has received more than 380 regional, national, and international awards. Glenn Murcutt has won numerous awards, including the Thomas Jefferson Medal for Architecture in 2001 and the Pritzker Prize for Architecture in 2002.
