作者簡介

Melanie Killen, Ph.D., is Professor of Human Development and the Associate Director for the Center for Children, Relationships, and Culture at the University of Maryland. She is author of Children and Social Exclusion: Morality, Prejudice, and Group Identity (Killen & Rutland, 2011), co-editor of The Handbook of Moral Development (Killen & Smetana, 2006), and co-editor of Morality in Everyday Life: Developmental Perspectives (Killen & Hart, 1995), which won the outstanding book award from American Educational Research Association. She is Associate Editor at the journal Child Development.  Her research is on the development of social cognition, moral reasoning, and intergroup attitudes.

Robert J. Coplan, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He is co-editor of the academic volume The Development of Shyness and Social Withdrawal (Rubin & Coplan, 2010) and author of the forthcoming book What Teachers Need to Know about Shy Children at School. He is editor of the academic journal Social Development and was an invited co-editor of a recent special issue of Infant and Child Development (2009) on shyness and language. His research is on children’s social and emotional development and peer relationships.
