Models, Theories And Concepts - Advanced Nursing Series

The Advanced Nursing Series has been prepared in response to an increasing demand for access to information published in Journal of Advanced Nursing. In planning the series, the needs of practitioners and students were examined in detail. The result is an influential and innovative series of books that adopt a thematic approach, bringing together specially selected papers which have been updated where appropriate by the original authors. These have been edited by Professor James Smith and cover a wide range of specialities which are representative of international nursing, midwifery and health visiting.
Models, Theories and Concepts, the first in the series, presents a wide range of nursing models and their effectiveness when applied to practice. International authorities in their specialist fields consider the gaps between theory and practice, as well as the evaluation of a selection of models and emerging theories. There is discussion of both moral and practical concepts, in addition to chapters on restructuring and development of nursing knowledge. A large variety of areas is covered, including weight loss, care of the elderly, contraception and psychiatry.
