Modern Aspects of Electrochemistry

This volume contains five chapters, covering topics including the cathodic reduction of nitrate, including discussion of product selectivity, current efficiency, and the thermodynamics and kinetics for the reactions studied, with a review of electrochemical membrane technology not involving the cathodic reduction of nitrate; a discussion of ionic liquids known as molten or fused salts in key industrial processes; the properties of nanowires composed of metals and semiconductors, with a focus on the step edge decoration method; an overview of a range of alloys used in electroplating; trends in ammonium electrolysis as a renewable source of fuel; and a review of the applications of synchroton x-ray scattering in respect to the electrochemical interphase.
