The Ethical Educator: Integrating Ethics Within the Context of Teaching and Teacher Research

This volume brings together 14 chapters that explore ethics in relation to teaching and teacher research, specifically how to reflect ethical standards and integrate then into research so that it contributes to the profession. It is aimed at teachers engaged in research in the classroom, collaborative research within the university and school, other educators, and pre-service teachers. Authors, who are professors of education and other fields and classroom teachers, reflect on their own experiences, their reasons for becoming a teacher, handling difficult situations, challenges, and ethical lessons learned. They address ethical standards and topics such as ethnicity, teacher screening procedures, institutional review boards, confidentiality, the influence of community and culture, special needs students and research, student perspectives, and collaborative research. The book is derived from the Comprehensive Guide to Teacher Research, currently in press. There is no index.
