Always-On Enterprise Information Systems for Business Continuance: Technologies for Reliable and Scalable Operations

Modern enterprise information systems and IT platforms are expected to operate on a continuous, 'always-on' basis. In this collection of current research for academicians, researchers, and practitioners, contributors from around the world describe frameworks for designing and developing always-on implementation systems, and look at enabling technologies, IT/IS governing, risk management, manufacturing and supply chain strategies, and new IT paradigms. A corporate IT risk management model and a framework for governance and IT audit are provided, and an example of a collaborative disaster response decision-making system, the Decision Theater at Arizona State University, is described.
