Affective, Interactive and Cognitive Methods for E-Learning Design: Creating an Optimal Education Experience

This collection presents several design approaches to technology enhanced learning based on interactive behavior, cognitive theories, and affective characteristics. The 15 chapters discuss the transition from teaching to learning in contemporary education in the context of ICT and the Web, and explore the role of multimedia and virtual reality. Topics include interface design for social interaction in e-learning environments, a pedagogics pattern model of blended e-learning, ontology engineering for courseware design, and pattern drills for foreign language acquisition. Tzanavari is an associate professor in the department of design and multimedia at the University of Nicosia, and Tsapatsoulis is an assistant professor of communication science and technology at the Cyprus University of Technology.
