Horror Spoofs of Abbott and Costello

Better known for their straight comedy, Abbott and Costello also made occasional use of elements of the horror genre. The first part of Miller's reference examines the duo's "Meet the Monsters" spoofs (e.g. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein ), and the second deals with their other films that employed horror scenarios Hold that Ghost , The Time of Their Lives , and Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff . Chapters explore the plot of each film in detail, commenting on the comedians' styles of comedy, the effect of the horror scenes, and the place of the film in the Abbott and Costello canon.
