He explores the competencies, knowledges, and sentiments that emerge out of embodied practices of community supported agriculture, heritage seed banks, and backyard chicken coops, arguing that the embodied experiences of these three empirical spaces create challenges to "Global Food," (the system of large scale, global food provisioning) through the way they foster particular knowledges, tastes, and feelings about food and how it is produced.
