Myra Wiggins (1869-1956) embodied the ideal of the "new woman" - independent, energetic, and ambitious - as depicted by the Eastman Kodak Company's "Kodak Girl" and promoted as "The Witchery of Kodakery."
In Witch of Kodakery, biographer Carole Glauber resurrects Wiggins' pioneering role with a provocative text and fine examples of the artist's work, particularly from Wiggins' most prolific years, 1889 to the early 1910s. Also included is a foreword by Terry Toedtemeier, curator of photography at the Portland Art Museum.
