商品簡介

The fate of humanity lies in the webbed hands of sixteen-year-old Du who must leave his isolated mountain home in California to save modern civilization. To stop the great flood, Du must find the family who abandoned him as a baby. Freakish looking, he discovers he has great gifts. But whoever comes near him is in danger as Du finds himself in the middle of warring gods. The stars told the Maya that the Fifth World, our World would end on December 21, 2012. Can Du save us?

作者簡介

Jeffrey Marcus Oshins spent his childhood in a Virginia lake house seven miles from the U.S. Capitol. Family friends and neighbors included leaders from the worlds of government, politics, and the press. His interest in politics started at the age of ten when he maintained a correspondence with John Kennedy. Oshins' first job in Washington was at the age of fifteen as a Congressional page appointed by the Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. He was present along with the leaders of the Civil Rights movement including Martin Luther King at the signing of the Voting Rights Act. The following year he worked at the Democratic National Committee on the Young Democrats Program. He graduated from high school in Vienna, Austria, where his father was a United Nations official.Oshins took a break from college at the University of California Santa Barbara to return to the Democratic National Committee where he worked during the time of the Watergate break-in. His picture was in the first article written by Woodward and Bernstein tying the break-in to the White House. Later that year, he joined the staff of the McGovern for President campaign. After graduating from college, Oshins went to work on the legislative staff of the U.S. House of Representatives. After a stint with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Dukakis for President campaign, Oshins founded Community Based Economic Develop Strategies (cbeds, org) a group dedicated to organizing communities to address job training, job development, child care, crime prevention, and homeland security issues.
