Collaborative Learning 2.0: Open Educational Resources

This collection of twenty-one articles on online and digital learning showcases current scholarship surrounding the use of open educational resources (OER) and open source projects related to distance learning, collaborative teaching, and experimental and cutting edge pedagogical methodologies. The essays are divided into sections covering widening participation in OER communities; producing, reusing, and recreating OER; sharing user generated content; and social learning, rich media, and games. Individual entries discuss topics such as higher education and OER; adapting OER for professional communities; peer support and OER; and collaboration, rich media, and the Open University-BBC partnership. Chapters include abstracts, illustrations, screenshots, and references and a volume-wide compilation of reading resources is provided. Contributors are academics from primarily UK institutions.
