Networked Sociability and Individualism

Sociologists and other social scientists explore the concept and experience of individualism now that no one is ever alone. They cover emerging conceptual patterns of networked sociability and individualism; social network sites, relational patterns, and identity performances; and social media and institutions. Among specific topics are conceptualizing social interactions in networked spaces, effects of time and platform on social network site use among Dutch students, Facebook as trial platform for social behavioral patterns, selective exposure to blogs and political websites for political information, and digital public communication strategies and civic interaction within Italian municipality pages on Facebook.
