From Crisis to Crisis

Intended to provide a perspective based in legal scholarship in the study of international finance, this volume on the global financial system, capital movement, and crisis, examines the history of international financial disasters and explores potential legal prescriptions for stabilization and responsible regulation. Beginning with an overview of international financial regulatory frameworks, the volume proceeds through discussions of recent major financial failures, and policy programs and initiatives implemented in their wake. Topics discussed include the Latin American and African debt crises of 1982, the Asian financial collapse of 1997, Argentina in 2001, the global financial crisis of 2008 and international policy responses, and IMF reform.
