This reference on the work of Italian mystery writer Andrea Camilleri focuses on his print mystery stories and TV crime dramas featuring the character Inspector Salvo Montalbano, but also offers briefer entries on Camilleri's political and cultural articles. Lucia Rinaldi is a teaching fellow at University College London, Department of Italian. Her main research interests are 20th-century Italian literature and culture, in particular crime fiction. She has published articles on Italian crime writers and is coeditor of Assassinations and Murder in Modern Italy: Transformations in Society and Culture (2007). Series Editor Elizabeth Foxwell, an Agatha Award winner, is managing editor of Clues: A Journal of Detection.
