Drawing deeply from oral traditions to underscore the earthy tensions of an adivasi society, Narayan evokes Nature and the Great Spirits to unfold the Malayarayars' changing perceptions of land and its ownership, and documents a life system that is slowly fading into history.

作者簡介
Narayan, recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, has published five novels and two collections of short stories. Kocharethi is his first novel.
Catherine Thankamma is a translator, writer, and critic. She teaches English language in R.L.V. College of Music and Fine Arts, Cochin.
G.S. Jayasree is Director, Centre for Women's Studies and Reader, Institute of English, University of Kerala.
