Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Early Childhood

This work gathers practice-focused research papers written by international academics, researchers, practitioners, and trainers in early childhood education, highlighting issues that are relevant to local and global early childhood communities. The book's chapters are organized under four main themes: children's learning cultures, cultures of pedagogy, cultural perspectives on curricula, and cultures of professional development. Many chapters describe early childhood centers and programs around the world, such as a child-to-child program in South Africa, the transition to preschool education in Greece, and teaching measurement in an Israeli kindergarten.
