This monograph represents the first comprehensive study of the multifaceted representations of the complex phenomenon of globalization in the diverse repertoire of the 2008 Nobel Laureate in Literature. This interdisciplinary investigation explores the original euphoria related to the ambivalent concept of the ‘global village’ and how this evaporated dream can perhaps be re-appropriated and redefined to create a better global society for both the human and Cosmic Other through the lens of Le Clezio’s fiction.
作者簡介
Keith Moser is an Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University. After publishing his first book with The Edwin Mellen Press in 2008 entitled ‘Privileged Moments’ in the Novels and Short Stories of J.M.G. Le Clezio: His Contemporary Development of a Traditional French Literary Device, Moser has contributed several essays to peer-reviewed publications, such as Romance Notes, Dalhousie French Studies, Modern Language Review, Les Cahiers Le Clezio, French Cultural Studies, Janus Head, Sprachkunst, and The EFL Journal. Although the majority of his research focuses on Le Clezio, he has also published material related to Albert Camus, Marcel Proust, Jean-Paul Sartre, Claude Lanzmann, Fatima Besnaci-Lancou, Dalila Kerchouche, and Zahia Rahmani. Moser’s research areas are truly interdisciplinary as evidenced by his essays concerning interculturality, literary representations of bullying, and teaching literature in the World Language classroom. Moser recently co-edited a collection of essays with Bruno Thibault (J.M.G. Le Clezio dans la foret des paradoxes, L’Harmattan, 2012). He also organized the first campus visit in the United States for the 2008 Nobel Laureate in Literature, J.M.G. Le Clezio at Mississippi State University from March 28-April 4, 2009. Additionally, Dr. Moser served as an invited volunteer for the Fondation pour l’interculturel et la paix (Foundation for Interculturality and Peace), co-founded by J.M.G. Le Clezio and Issa Asgarally, to help launch this humanitarian organization from the island nation of Mauritius in May 2010.
