The Biographical Dictionary of Scottish Women ─ From the Earliest Times to 2004

Now in a paperback reprint of the 2006 hardbound edition, this reference contains entries written by a team of 280 scholars on 830 women important to Scottish history. In addition to full names, pseudonyms, parents, dates of birth and death, and a concise biography, each entry contains a list of sources and possible further reading. Many of the entries include co-subjects: sisters, colleagues, partners or other women associated with the main subject. The dictionary also has group entries for the Four Maries, Glasgow Girls, and the Scottish Women's Hospitals.
