This volume is arranged in five parts, the first comprising 20 commissioned essays by contributors who worked with Sebeok (1920-2001) discussing various aspects of his theories. The second section contains vignettes and stories and reflects the esteemed linguist's own serious interest in anecdotes as an avenue of investigation. Following are letters, a chapter on the Tartu connection (correspondence with Juri Lotman), and a section of photographs, including Sebeok's grave.
