Intergrative and Inerdisciplinary Aspects of Intermetallics：VOLUME842

In these proceedings from the symposium held in November and December of 2004, participants describe their work in the importance of microstructure and defects on the physical and mechanical properties of ordered metallics. Paper topics on iron aluminides include the strengthening of iron aluminide alloys for high-temperature applications and the development of high-temperature creep resistance. Other general topics include nickel aluminides, titanium aluminides (including a paper on micro-fracture toughness testing of TiAl-based alloys with a fully lamellar structure), silicides, functional intermetallics and other intermetallics, including a paper on solidification processing of RuAl-based alloys, and several papers on modeling.
