Based largely on the findings of a project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council in the UK, called "Safeguarding heritage at risk: disaster management in UK archives, libraries and museums," undertaken from March 2005 to October 2006, this volume provides an overview of contemporary disaster management policies and practices in British archives, libraries, and museums and explores lessons from other countries and other fields like business and computing.
