商品簡介
Finding current debates within the Anglican community to be more concerned with regulation and authority than with theology, religious scholars and practitioners from Britain and the US take the metaphor of the church as the body of Christ as a pivot for reflecting on the nature and role of the church in society today. The open body represents the church interacting with the world, as opposed to a closed body that would set its own rules regardless of external matters. The themes are forming and governing the open body, theology, identity, and practices. Annotation c2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Charles M. Stang is Associate Professor of Early Christian Thought at Harvard Divinity School and a former Episcopal Church Foundation Fellow (2002–2005). His research and teaching focus on the history and theology of Christianity in late antiquity, especially Eastern varieties of Christianity. He is the author of Apophasis and Pseudonymity in Dionysius the Areopagite: ?No Longer I?, co-editor with Sarah Coakley of Rethinking Dionysius the Areopagite, and editor of The Waking Dream of T. E.
