Stress, Coping, and Health in Families

This inaugural publication of the Center for Excellence in Family Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison, is based on Aaron Antonovsky's theory of salutogenesis (per his 1984 "The sense of coherence as a determinant of health" in Matarazzo, et al., eds. Behavioral Health ) encompassing the concepts of resiliency and sense of coherence. These 35 adherents highlight the power of families more than their deficits in empirical studies on coherence related to families, aging, and most intriguingly, possible impact on immunology featuring families of diverse ethnicities and dis/abilities.
