Teacher's Personality and Professionalism

The editors (professors of education at the U. of Tartu and the U. of Tallinn, Estonia) present ten papers examining teaching issues associated with teachers' professionalism and personality in Estonia and, comparatively, in neighboring countries. Topics include the parent-teacher relationship in child care; teachers' attitudes towards transition to Estonian as a language of instruction in Russian-medium schools; teachers' self-efficacy, teaching practices, and teaching approaches; professional aims and tenure goals of beginning teachers; and perceived stress, work related stressors, and coping activities.
