Modern American Poetry ― Points of Access

Editors Freitag and Reed present students, educators, and general-interest readers with a collection of academic articles and essays that investigate how to the read and teach poetry primarily focused on modern American poetry. The contributions that make up the main body of the text are devoted to a wide variety of subjects, including the challenges and rewards of teaching and studying Emily Dickinson, Gertrude Stein’s Tender Buttons, Frank O’Hara and the New York School of poetry and painting in the 1950s, and others.
