商品簡介
Capitalist globalization is increasing inequality and insecurity among the middle class and the poor in the United States, as well as the rest of the world, argues Barlow (sociology, Diablo Valley College). He contends that political elites have unable or unwilling to address the economic destabilization of globalization, paving the way for the intensification of racism in the United States. He reviews the growth of anti-immigrant and other mobilizations and explores the solidarity movements arrayed to oppose them and other problems wrought by the crisis of globalization. The strength of these solidarity movements rests in recognizing the importance of a diversity of ethnic communities. Annotation (c) Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
