Ezekiel ─ A Commentary based on Iezekiel in Codex Vaticanus

On facing pages of the original Greek and his own new translation, Olly presents the text of a manuscript that was produced by Christians, probably in Alexandria during the fourth century, but later deposited and used in Caesarea shortly after Christians were decriminalized in the Roman Empire by the 313 Edict of Milan. His commentary of the major Old Testament prophet aims to understand the meaning of a single text that proved to be influential, taking into account readings of it in earlier periods within various exegetical traditions. He also considers the readers, ranging from Jews in Babylonian exile to Christians in Alexandria and Caesarea during fourth and fifth centuries. He divides the text into five parts: the vision of God's glory, woe to Israel and Jerusalem, oracles against nations, the Lord will renew Israel, and a vision of temple and land. The high quality binding lays flat, allowing readers to ponder passages with both hands free. In addition to the usual indexes of scripture and modern authors, he indexes Greek words.
