The Documentary History of the Ratification of the Constitution ― Ratification of the Constitution by the States, New York

Of the 25 or 26 volumes of the series, 18 compile documents relating to the ratification of the US Constitution by the several states, this one focusing on New York. The debate over the Constitution in the state from July 1787 to January 1788 is continued from the previous volume. Subsequent sections cover the calling of a convention by the New York legislature in January and February 1788, and the debate from then until July. Records of the convention itself presumably will be in the next volume. Among the documents generally are commentaries by participants, the proceedings of the legislature in calling the convention, records of the election of convention delegates, the proceedings of the convention, post-convention documents, newspaper items, pamphlets, letters, petitions, and miscellaneous documents such as pay vouchers and other financial records.
