The Hellenistic Paintings of Marisa

This seventh volume of the Palestine Explorations Fund Annual is devoted to frescos found in the Greco-Judaic town of Marisa. Jacobson, a member of the Exploration Fund, reassesses the work of two early twentieth-century archaeologists, John Peters and Hermann Thiersch, who first excavated the town. The main section of this book is a facsimile reprint of Thiersch and Peters' 1905 report on the town and frescos with color plates here printed for the first time.
