作者簡介
Geoff Kersey is an experienced watercolourist and is much in demand as a teacher and demonstrator. He lives and works in Derbyshire where he has a studio, and he exhibits extensively. He has made over 30 watercolour DVDs and contributes to various art publications.
Wendy Jelbert is a teacher and professional artist who works in pastels, oils, acrylics, inks and watercolours. She enjoys experimenting with different ways of using mixed media and texture and her sometimes unconventional methods often produce surprising and original results. Wendy is a tutor at West Dean College, West Sussex.
Arnold Lowrey has been painting in a variety of media for over twenty-five years. His motivation has been the use of light in painting, but he now experiments more with colour and texture. His seascapes are especially vibrant and full of movement. Arnold also likes painting still life, landscapes, portraits and abstracts. He exhibits his paintings in Wales and London. Arnold holds regular weekend workshops and weekly painting courses, residential watercolour courses and demonstrations for Art Societies. He is also a painting demonstrator for several art material suppliers.
Ray Campbell Smith is a prolific and versatile professional painter who specializes in the watercolour medium. More than forty solo shows have been held, many in the wide-ranging list of galleries which regularly exhibit his work. His work is represented in many collections in the UK and abroad. As well as contributing regularly to leading art magazines, he gives lectures, demonstrations and criticisms to art groups. He has made many highly successful instructional videos and DVDs and has written numerous books on painting, including several major best-sellers. Ray is on the advisory panel of the Society of All Artists in the UK. He has appeared on TV on several occasions, once painting a landscape in the company of Mary Nightingale, and he was recently voted Artist of the Year by the Society of All Artists.
Barry Herniman worked as a draughtsman and surveyor before emigrating to South Africa. He then took up a career in advertising and traveled throughout South America and the USA before returning to the UK in 1980. He worked with the Countryside Commission and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust before becoming a full-time student at the Gloucester College of Art and Technology where he gained a Higher Diploma in Information Design. He became a member of the Chartered Society of Designers in 1986 and formed his own graphics company in 1988. His first solo exhibition of watercolours was in Ross-0n-Wye in 1991 and he soon went on to pursue painting full time. He now travels extensively tutoring workshops and demonstrations and has had exhibitions in England, Canada and the USA. Barry won the Artist of the Year Award for the SAA in 2001 and the Harper Collins Award Patchings 2000. His hobbies include travelling, walking and playing the mandolin.
Joe Francis Dowden turned professional in 1982 and has since written many successful books and has been published by David & Charles, Sterling and Search Press. He has sold out at numerous solo shows and has exhibited his work throughout Britain. He lives in Worthing, East Sussex.
