Gender, Sex & Sexuality

Margaret Sonser Breen, a professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Connecticut, has curated a series of essays that explore gender, sex, and sexuality in literature. Each essay begins with a short section that introduces the questions, problems and context unique to the literature in question. Then the essays delve into themes such as sexuality and religion, masculinity, and self-determination. Literature explored includes Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, Milton’s Paradise Lost, Sharon Dennis Wyeth’s Tomboy Trouble and many more.
