商品簡介

Community-based research is relevant social research conducted through partnerships and collaboration between universities and the larger community. The goal is to develop a deeper understanding of communities and to discover new opportunities for improving quality of life. This book presents a diverse collection of stories about community-based research, with topics ranging from ethical research issues in intimate partner violence to challenges in tripartite collaboration. The nine case studies address issues of ethics, advocacy, and implementation in community-based research, highlighting best practices and lessons learned. Journeys in Community-Based Research will build capacity by helping to guide university researchers, faculty, students, community practicioners, and policy makers in their successful application of community-based research.
