Insolvency Law in East Asia

This volume speaks to the urgency of insolvency law reform in East Asia over the last 10 years. Although two general chapters address topics such as legal culture and cross-border insolvency, most of the articles scrutinize the 14 principal jurisdictions in the region. Each of those articles discuss key themes that run through different insolvency regimes, such as the legal system and culture; personal insolvency laws; corporate insolvency rules; court-based schemes of arrangement; winding-up procedures; liquidators; enforcement; and offences. The authors not only analyze the legal rules and principles, but also the contexts in which they have evolved.
