A successor edition to the AGC Contract Documents Handbook, this volume is a guide to the ConsensusDOCS primary standard contract document forms that were first developed by the Contract Documents Committee of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the AGC's Private Industry Advisory Council with the intent of providing standard contract forms that balance the interests among designers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors/sureties. Edited by Peartree (a partner specializing in construction contract law and related topics in the law firm of Ernstrom & Dreste LLP), the guide examines the elements of the various contract documents, discusses their specific contract provisions, and explains the theory underlying the language. The guide also considers how well the documents incorporate best practices and risk approaches and gives advice on how to modify the documents to address specific project issues.
