《外國語言文學研究系列叢書:文學理論與文學批評》介紹了文學批評的方法及其應用，敘述了心理批評、社會批評、哲學批評、結構批評、歷史批評、神話及原型批評、女性主義批評等主要文學批評方法，並以附于各種批評方法介紹之后由作者本人撰寫的或選取的23篇文學批評論文說明這些批評方法的具體運用。
