Library Security ─ Better Communication, Safer Facilities

Library Security is a book for library staff who are concerned with creating a safe, functioning, peaceful place for themselves to work in and for patrons to visit. It teaches creative patron communication methods and high-risk customer service tools designed to address patron behaviors that could escalate tense situations or otherwise create a potentially unsafe environment for library workers and other patrons. This book also defines law enforcement techniques that are applicable to the workplace, such as the Rule of Three: Ask, Tell, and Make.
