Rewriting German History offers striking new insights into key debates about the recent German past. Jan Ruger teaches Modern History at Birkbeck, University of London, UK. He has held visiting fellowships at the Yale Center for International and Area Studies, and the Humanities Research Center at the Australian National University. He is the author of The Great Naval Game: Britain and Germany in the Age of Empire (2007).

Nikolaus Wachsmann is Professor of Modern European History at Birkbeck, University of London, UK, and has written widely on deviance, discipline and terror in modern Germany. Most recently, he has published KL. A History of the Nazi Concentration Camps (2015). He is also the author of the prize winning Hitler's Prisons and co-editor of Concentration Camps in Nazi Germany: The New Histories.
