The Palestine Yearbook of International Law 2013-2014

This volume contains seven articles on issues related to enforcing international law in Palestine, as well as a summary and guidelines from an academic conference, national and European Union legislation, information from the International Criminal Court, and UN resolutions and documents. In the articles, law scholars and attorneys from Europe, Palestine, and the US discuss how Israel's occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip qualifies as apartheid and colonialism, and the legal and political remedies to end the conflict; the need for a new integrated strategy for liberation in Palestine that involves the Palestinian people, legal options, and political, popular, and other forms of struggle; the 2011 ruling of the Supreme Court of Israel concerning quarrying licenses issued to Israeli firms in the West Bank; the role of international courts in advancing the independence of Palestine; the legal and moral basis for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel; and why the BDS movement is an effective means to advance Palestinian rights under international law.
