Rabbi Pinson presents his teachings in small discrete paragraphs, and deliberately does not include scholarly references or footnotes. He begins with practical advice on how to prepare for meditation, discusses the objective of meditation, and continues with further teachings on meditation, and a sample meditation. While the book is intended to be a step-by-step guide, because of the nature of the material it is quite different from a manual with more tangible subject matter. There is a glossary at the end of the book, which is helpful in dealing with Hebrew terms; and right before the glossary is a synopsis, which the reader might want to peruse before beginning the book, as well as at the end.
