The Origins of the Civilization of Angkor ― The Excavation of Noen U-Loke and Non Muang Kao

This substantial volume contains detailed reports and analysis of the excavations carried out at these two Iron Age sites in the 1990s. Both located in Thailand, Noen U-Loke was occupied for 800 years and Non Muang Kao's significance lies in its many burials. Initial chapters discuss the sites' geoarchaeology. Among the topics of the subsequent chapters are a description of the people of Noen U-Loke, the mortuary record, material culture, faunal remains, pottery, remains of wattle and daub structures, and the archaeology of salt production. The volume is published in an oversized format (8.5x11.75") and is heavily illustrated with tables, plans, maps, drawings, and many b&w and color photos of the finds and excavated burials.
