Slater Carson, the oldest son, lives at the family ranch outside Mustang Creek, Wyoming. He still considers himself a traditional cowboy but, unlike his two brothers, is no longer an active part of ranch life. Instead he makes documentary features about the Old West.

Grace Emery has just moved to the area to manage a luxury resort. In addition to her demanding new job, she's caring for her ex-husband's troubled fourteen-year-old son, Ryder. Her dedication impresses Slater, but he sees that Ryder needs some male guidance, so he decides to provide it. Which, of course, brings him and "Amazing Grace" closer togetherin more ways than one!
