Kit Marshall, first introduced in Stabbing in the Senate, is now the legislative director for House of Representatives member Maeve Fox. In the midst of a major political crisis resulting in a government shutdown, Kit enters the political fray and arranges a critical meeting between her boss and the Speaker of the House. Fox emerges from her meeting incensed and engages in a public fight with Jack Drysdale, the top aide for the Speaker. Coverage of the altercation goes viral.
