Dayton, Tennessee’s Bob Arnold saw his first Tennessee football game on October 15, 1960 as a young child when the Vols defeated a lively Alabama team 20-7 on Shields-Watkins Field in Knoxville. His new book, the first he has written, titled, “Through Orange Colored Glasses: Memories of a Big Orange Fan,” details his reviews as a fan on nearly a game-by-game basis. Arnold chronicles his feelings throughout the ebbs and flows of more than 50 seasons he has watched the Vols compete on the gridiron. The reader can expect to experience nearly every emotion a fan could realize, from the great wins, through the frustrating losses, through coaches arriving on the scene with great fanfare while some go down in flames nearly as quickly as they rose from the ashes of the coaches they followed.
