Uprooting Sexual Violence in Higher Education ─ A Guide for Practitioners and Faculty

Administrators, faculty, and staff are faced with the dilemma of understanding the motivations and factors involved with sexual assault of campus. This book will offer a foundational understanding of twelve risk factors related to sexual assault, stalking, and intimate partner violence to better help tailor prevention efforts around precipitating attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors supported by research.Uprooting Sexual Violence provides colleges and universities insights into what leads to behaviors associated with individuals and groups committing sexual assault, as well as strategies for mitigating these risk factors and informing policy to reduce sexual assault on campus.

Amy Murphy is Dean of Students and Managing Director of the Center for Campus Life at Texas Tech University. She is also the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students and Chair of the University Behavioral Intervention Team.

Brian Van Brunt is Senior Vice President for Professional Program Development at the National Center for Higher Education Risk Management (NCHERM). He is also the President-elect of the National Behavioural Intervention Team Association and the Managing Editor for Student Affairs eNews. He is past-president of the American College Counseling Association (ACCA).
