商品簡介
Since the majority of surgical operations in the United States are performed on a nonemergency basis, it is increasingly important for patients to know how to evaluate and choose a quality surgeon and hospital. In A Patient's Guide to Surgery, Dr. Edward L. Bradley III thoroughly explains all you need to know to prepare yourself for the surgical experience. This book describes how you can actively participate in the decision-making process and, as a result, improve your chances for successful surgery and recovery.
Among topics covered: Evaluating alternatives to surgery; deciding when to have surgery; getting a second opinion; changing surgeons; surgical fees; descriptions of the most common surgical operations; choices in procedures and anesthesia; and what to expect from your surgery.
A Patient's Guide to Surgery also lists specific questions you should consider when evaluating a doctor, a hospital, or a prepaid health plan.
