Shimizu'S Dermatology, 2E

 In 2005, Professor Shimizu wrote Shimizu’s Textbook or Dermatology, published byNakayama Publishing Co, Japan. It sold 5000 copies in Japan alone. It was translated into English in 2007 and sold a further 2000 English copies despite the publisher’s lack of market reach. A second Japanese edition published in 2011 and sold another 5,000 copies since publication. Prof Shimizu now owns the copyright and wishes to publish a 2^nd English edition with a larger, more international publisher, who will be able to reach the English-speaking market better than the previous publisher.

Fully revised with the latest in clinical developments since publication of the 1E,Shimizu’s Dermatology 2E again provides practical, didactic, and rapid-reference advice on the most common dermatologic conditions, their diagnosis and clinical management.

Diseases cover clinical features, classification, pathogenesis, pathology, treatment and lab findings, and all chapters are packed with key points and tips/tricks to aid clear understanding. Containing over 2000 clinical images, quick and easy diagnosis of symptoms is made easy and straightforward. A companion website will house all images electronically, and fully downloadable for use in presentations, etc.

Hiroshi Shimizu, MD, PhD, Professor and Chairman, Department of Dermatology, Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine, Sapporo, Japan. Professor Shimizu heads the dermatology department of Hokkaido University, one of the world's leading centers for dermatologic research, and has 35 years of clinical and research expertise. Professor Shimizu worked for six years as the chief editor of the Journal of Dermatological Science, the official journal of the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology. He has served as associate editor or editor of 10 international dermatology journals. The professor is an honorary member of the American Dermatological Association, the European Society for Dermatological Research, the Austrian Society of Dermatology and Venereology, the Society for Cutaneous Ultrastructure Research, and other groups. He has over 600 original academic publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
