Research on health disparities — differences in physical and mental health caused by inequalities based on social class, race and ethnicity, and gender — is rapidly growing. 作者簡介
Steven E. Barkan is professor of sociology at the University of Maine, where he teaches Health, Medicine, and Society as well as a number of other courses. He is an award-winning textbook author, having written several previous texts, including Criminology: A Sociological Understanding, 5e, Law and Society: An Introduction, Sociology: Understanding and Changing the Social World, Social Problems: Continuity and Change, and Discovering Society: Using MicroCase ExplorIT, 3e. Barkan is a past president of the Society for the Study of Social Problems and currently the Vice President/President-elect of the Text and Academic Authors Association.
