作者簡介
Fatimah Ibrahim obtained her Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University, Wisconsin, USA (1989), followed by her Master degree in Electronic Sciences (Medical System) from the University of Hertfordshire, UK (1994) and then her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Malaya (UM) (2005). She was a Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) from 1990–1999 before she joined UM where she was directly involved in establishing the first Biomedical Engineering Department in Malaysia. At present, she is a Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Head of Centre for Innovation in Medical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UM. She did her Biological and Micro-Electromechanical Systems (BioMEMS) and Carbon NEMS (C-NEMS) research attachment at the University of California, Irvine in 2010 and 2016, respectively. Her research interests are in detection and monitoring of diseases, physiological modelling and measurement, biosensor, bioinstrumentation, BioMEMS, C-NEMS and artificial intelligence applications in medicine.
At present, Dr Jadeera is employed by the University of Malaya (UM) as a senior lecturer attached to the Sports Centre. Her journey in sports science started at UM, where she was enrolled as a Bachelor of Sports Science undergraduate student. Upon obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, Dr Jadeera pursued her Masters and Doctoral degrees at The University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia.? Dr Jadeera’s area of specialisation is in motor learning and control. Her research efforts in this field primarily involve manipulating the variables of practice that could aid skill aquisition, learning and performance. Dr Jadeera’s other research area is in sport psychology. More specifically, her research interest in this field is centered around the investigation of psychological skills training for performance enhancement. In the near future, Dr Jadeera is looking to expand her research focus and is keen to embark on finding ways to promote physical activity and improve the health of the general population.
Juliana Usman completed her Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering degree (BBEng) and her Masters of Engineering Science (MEngSc.) degree at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She received her PhD from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya. Her area of specializations are in Motion Analysis, and Sports Biomechanics looking especially into injury prevention and performance enhancement.
Mohd Yazed Ahmad received the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2003, the MEngSc. degree from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, in 2006 and the Ph.D degree from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia in 2013. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya. His current research interests include wireless power transfer, RFID, instrumentation, smart space and embedded systems.
Rizal Razman was part of the very first batch of Sport Science students that graduated from University of Malaya in 1999. In year 2000, he went on to pursue an MSc (Human Movement) at the University of Western Australia, graduated the following year and started to teach in UM in 2001. He formally completed his Phd from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Malaya in 2012; investigating the critical parameters of the ten-pin bowling delivery. He has served University Malaya for the past 15 years and is currently the Deputy Director for Undergraduate Studies at the Sports Centre.
Victor S Selvanayagam completed his first degree in Sports Science and Master’s degree in Medical Science at the University of Malaya (UM). He received his PhD from The University of Queensland in the area of Neuroscience where he focused on identifying early neural responses to strength training. Victor, who is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist (CSCS), is currently a Senior Lecturer with the Sports Centre, University of Malaya.
