CAROLINE BAINBRIDGE is Senor Lecturer in Media and Cultural Studies at Roehampton University, UK, where she is also Co-Director of the Centre for Research in Film and Audio-Visual Cultures (www.crfac.org). She is the co-editor of a special edition ofJournal for Cultural Research on trauma in the field of visual culture.

SUSANNAH RADSTONE is Reader in the School of Social Sciences, Media and Cultural Studies at the University of East London, UK. Her recent publications include two companion volumesContested Pasts: The Politics of Memory and Regimes of Memory. Her forthcoming books includePublic Emotion; On Memory and Confession: The Sexual Politics of Time, andMapping Memory.

MICHAEL RUSTIN is a Professor of Sociology at the University of East London, and a Visiting Professor at the Tavistock Clinic, UK. CANDIDA YATES is Senior Lecturer in Psychosocial Studies at the University of East London, UK.
